Freshman Knights 2009

Michael Hendricks

Michael is representative for Metlife, he and his wife Angela and daughter Samantha had been attending Nativity for several years as a family when Michael decided to embrace the Catholic Faith.  Michael completed the RCIA program and was confirmed at Easter. They have been active in Respect Life work and are expecting their second child, Jacob, in August. He was attracted to the Knights because of their heart for charity and says that Father Cadrecha was a very strong influence on his decision to join the Church which he sees as a natural path for him and his family. He is a strong believer in the power of prayer.

Welcome Michael and congratulations on the latest unborn addition to your family as well as your decision to embrace the Faith and our Order. You have a great attitude!

Father Emery N. Longanga

Father Emery is a originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and is currently working on his Ph.D at Notre Dame University Father had heard good things about the Knights and wanted to be a part of our order.  Regarding his calling to the priesthood Father says "when I was a boy I remember going to Church with my mother. Hearing the priest sing at Mass inspired me to explore the priesthood. Singing praise to God made me to want to give myself totally to the service of God and to others. I like to sing for God and to make people happy. It is said that he who sings well, prays twice and in singing the Mass you put people at ease because you help them to pray twice."

Thank you Father for your words of inspiration and for honoring us with your presence, prayers and wisdom. There is so much that you can teach us and we look forward to getting to know you better.
